The Marathon Petroleum Educational Reimbursement Plan offers educational reimbursement benefits to encourage your self-development and promote efficiency and professional advancement. When you successfully complete an approved course and/or semester, Marathon Petroleum will reimburse eligible expenses, including tuition, textbooks, supplies and required fees.
Scholarship Details
- Undergraduate degree programs may qualify for reimbursement of up to $5,250 per year
- Graduate degree programs may qualify for reimbursement of up to $9,000 per year
- Approved non-degree courses may qualify for reimbursement of up to $5,250 per year
- Approved certification and licensing programs may qualify for reimbursement of up to $5,250
- Eligible degree-related expenses may include tuition, textbooks, supplies, and required fees
- Eligible non-degree course expenses may include tuition, textbooks, supplies, and required fees
- Reimbursement is provided after successful completion of an approved course, certification, or licensing program
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a regular part-time or full-time Marathon Petroleum employee
- Must have been in the current position for a reasonable amount of time
- Must receive approval from a supervisor and HR Business Partner
- Degree courses must be part of an approved degree program
- Non-degree courses must receive company approval
- Certification or licensing expenses must be associated with a company-approved certification or license
- Must successfully complete the applicable course, certification, or licensing requirements to receive reimbursement
Application Process
- Determine whether you are seeking reimbursement for a degree program, non-degree course, or certification and licensing program.
- Review the Marathon Petroleum Educational Reimbursement Plan requirements for eligible courses and expenses.
- Obtain the required approval from your supervisor and HR Business Partner.
- Complete and submit the applicable education or course approval request.
- Successfully complete the approved course, certification, or licensing program.
- Submit the required reimbursement request and documentation according to company procedures.
Applications for a degree program course, non-degree course, and certification and license must be submitted no earlier than 120 days before and no later than 30 days after the course start date. Applications submitted more than 30 days after the course start date indicated on the online application are not eligible for reimbursement.
