The Gator Bowl Charities Award of Excellence Scholarship provides financial aid to graduating high school student-athletes. The scholarship may be used at any accredited college or university. Applicants must meet academic, athletic, extracurricular and geographic eligibility requirements to apply for this award.
Scholarship Details
- Four scholarships of $2,500 each are awarded each year
- The award is a one-time gift that can be used at any accredited college or university
- Selection is based on scholastic record, community service, sports participation, extracurricular activities and leadership qualities
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a current high school senior in an eligible Northeast Florida or Southeast Georgia county
- Maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA at an accredited high school
- Participate in a junior varsity or varsity sport or an equivalent activity such as dance or gymnastics
- Participate in extracurricular activities through school, church or the community
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application
- Write a 300-500 word essay addressing an assigned topic
- Upload the completed essay as a Word or PDF document
- Submit an authenticity statement confirming that your application response reflects your own experiences, ideas and writing
- Wait for notifications, which will be sent by the end of November
