Scholarship Description

The Good Samaritan Foundation provides financial support to local scholars pursuing their educational goals. Numerous scholarship funds are available to assist current students all levels of study, as well as Good Samaritan employees. Scholarships are available to students pursuing healthcare-related fields where a need has been identified by Good Samaritan Administration.

Scholarship Details

  • Average of $30,000 in scholarships is awarded annually
  • Eight scholarship funds are available
  • Supports graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students, graduate students, medical students and Good Samaritan caregivers
  • High school and college student applications are due March 1st
  • Good Samaritan caregiver applications are due October 1st
  • Applicants must reapply each year to continue receiving this

Eligibility Criteria

  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 and a minimum college GPA of 3.0, if applicable
  • Pursue a field of study in a healthcare area where a need has been identified by Good Samaritan Administration
  • Meet the specific eligibility requirements of the scholarship fund for which the applicant applies
  • Reside in one of the 10 counties served by Good Samaritan

Application Process

  1. Complete the scholarship application
  2. Submit three letters of reference, including one academic reference and two additional letters of recommendation
  3. Write and submit an essay of at least 250 words explaining why you are pursuing your chosen degree and describing your career plans after completing your education
  4. Provide a copy of your notice of acceptance into your degree program or certification or conference information for non-degree programs
  5. Submit copies of your most current academic transcript or transcripts
  6. Submit all required application materials by the specified deadlines
